It's important that children are taught the essential things in life
As the scourge of Fortnite filth continues to sweep the country, it has emerged that some parents in America are paying for their children to be tutored to avoid being embarrassed by their friends.
The
Wall Street Journal ran a feature in which it interviewed parents and their kids about the whole thing. Some claimed that they didn't want their kids to lose; others said they joined their children in the lessons as a "bonding experience".
Tutors are usually tracked down through social media or via contracting sites, with one website claiming it has hired out 1,400 Fortnite coaches since March. Apparently some coaches charge as much as $35 (£26.76) an hour.
But even some of the people making money out of the game find it a bit weird. “My dad would have never paid for me to take video game lessons," Logan Werner, an 18-year-old Fortnite coach in Utah, told the
Wall Street Journal.
And, obviously, people on Twitter thought the entire thing was stupid.
