Are these parent-and-child paring spaces sexist? One very annoyed dad thinks so

Parents who park their cars illegally while dropping off their children could soon face fines.

Cllr Sandra Kavanagh and Fingal County Council are requesting that Garda take control of what they see as a dangerous practice by some parents.

Some wardens at schools in the Dublin 15 area have even said they have been verbally abused by parents when asked to move their vehicle.

Council and school officials in the Dublin area have said that the blatant disregard for the rules is an accident waiting to happen.

According to Dublin Gazette Cllr Paul Donnelly was quoting as having said;

“I find it astonishing that people are going to park in an area that will put children in danger. It’s pretty much every school you pass.”

The county council are now looking to Garda to help enforce parking rules at the schools and think that putting fines in place for those who break the rules is necessary.

I can understand the concerns of those in the Fingal area, but I also know that not all schools have parking spaces outside or nearby.

It has not been stated what parking facilities are near the schools in question and if there is no suitable school parking available maybe that needs to be addressed before any fines are implemented.
