The parents and family members of sick children will be expected to pay for car parking at Dublin's new national children's hospital.
While there will be a discounted fee for families who are under severe financial pressure, the majority of the 1,000 spaces in the underground car park at the new €1bn development on the St James Hospital campus will be charged at a rate of €5 for two hours.
With construction set to begin in the coming weeks, the Irish Independent reports that 100 spaces will be available to long-stay families.
The largest building project ever to be undertaken in Ireland, the national children's hospital is due to be completed by late 2021 or early 2022.
