Parents are being urged to check their children’s fidget spinners after it is believed some could be dangerous.

Trading Standards are warning parents to make sure their children’s spinners are marked with CE, European Conformity, and also have lockable battery compartments.

Some of the Chinese-made spinners are using a lithium button battery which can be easily swallowed and cause burns.

The company have been testing batches of the popular toy and said that many are failing standard tests.

They say they are working to ensure unsafe spinners are not being sold but are asking parents to check any spinners they may have already bought.

The warnings come after multiple parents reported that their children’s bluetooth fidget spinners had gone up in flames while charging.
