Parents are being warned about the dangers of an online craze known as the “condom challenge.”

The viral “challenge” that has been gaining popularity in recent weeks has been dubbed painful and dangerous.

It involves snorting a condom up one nostril and pulling it out through the throat.

Understandably, health professionals have urged people not to partake in the viral challenge as the condom is a choking hazard.

Bruce Y Lee, an associated professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health told The Sun that the challenge is not worth getting “more likes and views.”

He said:

“Even if you manage to successfully pull the condom out through your mouth, inhaling a condom up your nose would be very uncomfortable and potentially quite painful.”

The challenge first appeared online over 10 years ago, however it has since gained traction again with YouTubers such as XtraLuck and LA Beast participating in it.

While the condom can cause choking while passing through the airway, the spermicidal lubricant can also cause infection and irritation.

This comes after another “condom challenge” became a popular online fad, with many people including celebrities videoing themselves with condoms stretched over their heads.

This “sensation” was also dubbed dangerous at the time.
