Paul Hollywood and his wife Alex have ended their marriage

The couple released a statement this evening.

Paul Hollywood and his wife Alex have split after almost twenty years of marriage. The TV chef, who rose to fame as a judge on The Great British Bake Off and Alex, who is also a chef, released the below joint statement:

"It is with sadness that we have decided to separate. Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time."

Alex and Paul, who married in 1998, have a teenage son together.

The couple previously split in 2013 when Hollywood had an affair with, Marcela Valladolid, whom he worked with on the American version of the popular baking show.
