It’s coming.

Penneys is set to open a brand new store in Bray this year, making it the first one to come to Wicklow.

Making it the 38th store in Ireland, the new 19,600sq.ft outlet is set to be put into the new Bray Central Shopping Centre development.

The retailer has announced that they will also be investing a further €250 million into the development of new stores and the refurbishment of existing ones in Ireland over the next ten years.

This investment includes a €75 million warehouse in Newbridge.

“Works will commence on the new store in the coming weeks, and we look forward to opening the doors and welcoming customers later in the year,” said Penneys’ Head of Irish Retail Damien O’Neill.

“We are proud to support and invest in Irish towns and communities and this announcement today reflects our ongoing commitment to Irish retail.”

In other Penneys news, the company revealed that they have launched a brand new website.

The new website has been launched in Ireland following the success of the UK website last year and is aiming to connect the journey between searching online and then shopping in store.

The new site features thousands of products from across Penneys’ best-selling ranges as well as enhanced navigation and a new feature that allows you to check stock availability and size in their local Penneys store.

A virtual shop window pops up as you log on and features a wider range of the latest collections of fashion, homeware, lifestyle, beauty and more.

The new site allows you to browse and explore every collection and see what’s new in store. But the best part? You’ll now be able to check if an item is in stock in your local store and check the exact information of each product.

Customers will also be able to create an account which you can add products to a wishlist, making it easier to shop in store when it comes to buying everything your heart desires.
