A woman’s video of her child trying to button up skinny jeans is dividing the internet. While the video was first shared back in October it’s drawing a lot of attention again this week.
It shows a little girl struggling to close the top button on her skinny jeans. Her mother can be heard telling her to suck in her stomach and do the ‘skinny girl’ dance to get the jeans to close.

Some of the people have been commenting saying that it will give her ‘image issues’ and saying that it’s ‘not healthy ‘:
“That is wrong on so many levels, the female that is making those comments should really think about what she is doing to this child’s psyche and if she keeps this crap up, this baby is going to grow up with an eating disorder.”
“Yes the baby’s super adorable, but I hope this is just a joke and that the mom isn’t stupid enough to squeeze the child into tight clothing, it’s simply not healthy”
“While I agree that this is somewhat cute and hilarious, I think the child needed to have a shirt on.. Too many creeps and perverts out there.. and the video seemed to have gone viral already.. I’m a mother too.. I would never expose my child’s body.. even as a newborn baby, I always asked for privacy to change her diaper.. protect your children’s dignity.. it starts and ends with one simple thing called ‘pride'”
“Some people think this is funny and I agree I smiled because she is adorable but honestly I don’t think this is okay. She doesn’t need to ‘suck it in,’ joke or not. She’s perfect the way she is. And we wonder why girls have so many body image issues! Stop being cheap, throw those 18 month pants away and get that sweet girl a 24 months!”
Other people are coming to the defense of the mother:
“She’s just playing with her daughter and making fun of how we really act tryna put on our [jeans]. I can almost guarantee she bought her those in the right size and baby just outgrew em.”
“It’s adorable, she is adorable, not fat but adorable. Why find something to complain about and try and make something ugly out of this video! Wow, people, lighten up!”
