Phillip Schofield is a national treasure; a hero amongst men.
This much we already knew.
And just in case any of us needed a reminder of this point (and we didn’t), just look what he served up for us on Saturday night.
Those of us tuning in for Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway certainly weren’t expecting a cameo from the This Morning presenter, but sure enough, that’s exactly what we got.
Ant and Dec, along with James Corden and Joe McElderry, were putting on a special tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber to celebrate his upcoming 70th birthday. Performing a number of songs from his musicals, the foursome had stopped for breath during a rendition of Any Dream Will Do, from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
However, as the music kicked in again, there was Schofe, taking the lead role… much to the delight of everyone watching.

The fact @Schofe just did this just proves why he is the greatest Britain ever 😂😍❤️ pic.twitter.com/t2r0RPHgQr

Although many younger viewers were surprised at Schofield’s singing voice, older audience members will probably remember that he played the role of Joseph in London’s West End in the early 1990s.
A man of many talents.
