Plane passenger that didn’t know she was pregnant gives birth on plane

Sometimes when you're pregnant you might have a small bump that doesn't really show. Other times...you might not know that you're pregnant at all, like this woman. Lavinia "Lavi" Mounga thought her flight to Hawaii was going to be just a regular flight, that was until she went into labour on the plane. This was even more surprising as she didn't even know she was pregnant! Mounga was on board a Delta flight from St. Louis to Honolulu when she started to feel what turned out to be labour pains. Midway through the flight Mounga alerted the flight staff that she was going to need medical attention. In a press release Hawaii Pacific Health family medicine physician Dr. Dale Glenn said;

"About halfway through the flight, there was an emergency call, asking if there is a doctor on board. It was fairly urgent. I let the flight attendant know that I'm a physician and she said we have a woman having a baby, so I hurried over to see what I could do."

Mounga, who was flying on a family vacation was completely unaware that she was pregnant but ended up delivering a healthy baby boy. Speaking about the experience, Mounga said;

"I just didn't know I was pregnant, and then (Raymond) just came out of nowhere."

Immediately upon landing in Honolulu, Mounga and baby were sent to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children where she and her baby are said to be doing fine.
