The baby was spotted by a passer-by.
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare.
Police were called this week when a small baby was spotted alone in a parked car in a Liverpool car park.
Passers-by noticed the three-month-old infant through the car windows and, concerned about the baby’s wellbeing, raised the alarm, reports The Liverpool Echo.
An announcement was made in the nearby Toys’R’Us store to try and locate the owners of the car but no-one responded.
Police responded to an emergency call and attended the scene but by the time they arrived, one of the passers-by had found the baby’s parents in the Toys’R’Us store and they had returned to the car.
The police confirmed that the baby was unharmed.
“A report was received at around 1.55pm that a baby was alone in a car parked outside Toys R Us, Paisley Street,” a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said.
The case was reported to social authorities, the spokesperson added.
“Advice was given to the parents and details of the incident have been reported to relevant partner agencies to ensure any issues are addressed.”
As parents, we’re all trying to do ten things at once but the idea of leaving your child alone in the car is too scary for words.
One mum recently opened up about her experience of it when she “did the unthinkable” and forgot about her two-year-old daughter in the car.
