Police investigating abduction and assault of 14-year-old boy near Belfast

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating the abduction and assault of a 14-year-old boy near Belfast.

The teenager was approached by three men and bundled into a car while he was walking in Newtownabbey on Saturday evening, August 4.

He was assault in the car while being driven a short distance from O’Neill Road to Camross Park. The boy was then removed from the vehicle and further assaulted by the men before they left the scene.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Lyttle called the incident “very disturbing.”

In a statement, the police said:

“The boy, who was left badly shaken after the incident, suffered extensive bruising to his face, head and body.

“This was a very disturbing incident for the child, his family and his friends, and our enquiries into the matter are ongoing.”

They are urging anybody who witnessed the crime to contact detectives in Antrim on 101 quoting reference number 1415 04/08/18.
