The first images of a baby girl who was abandoned at a bus shelter in Wales have been released.

The newborn was found lifeless at a bus shelter near a pub in Towyn, North Wales early on Tuesday morning of last week.

The police in Wales have released the images as part of a fresh appeal for the little girl’s mother to come forward.

She was rescued by a local man and his daughter, who spotted her as they were driving by the shelter.

Daniel Braxton told the Daily Post that at first he was worried that it was a prank.

“As I pulled up closer I could see the umbilical cord coming off the baby.

“She was blue and lifeless. She wasn’t even wrapped in a blanket or anything. She was just lying there on the cold stone. I rushed back to the car and grabbed a dressing gown I had in there and wrapped the baby up in it.

“I gave her a few hard rubs on her chest to see if there was any life in her, and at that point she gave a big gasp and opened her eyes.

“When she took her first breath and opened her eyes, I saw those beautiful big brown eyes staring up at me.”

The baby is currently being cared for at Glan Clwyd Hospital, reports the Evening Standard.

The police have appealed directly to her mother to help them name her.

“We think that you placed your daughter somewhere where she would be found and that is why it is important that you know your daughter is making good progress and actually may be well enough to be discharged soon.

“Your daughter needs a name and we want you to tell us what you want for her even if you don’t feel able to look after her yourself.”

They also said they were concerned for the mother herself.
