Detectives in the UK believe a two-week-old baby has been ‘hidden’ by his family to avoid him being taken into care.
The Telegraph reported that the mother of the child, Danielle Dawkins, from Bromley in south London, was brought to the attention of the local authority. However, there was nothing to suggest that the newborn had come to any harm. The baby was born in late September and was last seen four days ago.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Yarranton, from Bromley Criminal Investigation Department, stated to the media, “This is a vulnerable little boy who needs to be located as soon as possible. I would like to make a direct appeal to those who may be hiding the baby… it may be the case that you think you are doing the right thing by helping his mother or it simply could be that you are not fully aware of the circumstances, but by concealing this child you could be committing an offence.”
The Police has appealed for those who may know of the child’s whereabouts, to come forward to the UK police with any information.
