Parents are being urged to check their little ones' toys after a popular baby product sold by The Works was recalled over a potential choking hazard.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a safety notice for The Works' My First Baby Spinner, warning that the product contains small parts that could pose a risk to young children.

According to the CCPC, the toy contains small balls that a child could put in their mouth, potentially causing them to choke.

Around 1,050 of the products have been sold in the Republic of Ireland, with all batches affected by the recall.

The product affected is the My First Baby Spinner, sold under The Works' Playworks brand.

Parents can identify the recalled toy using the following details:

  • Barcode: 5052089365995
  • All batches are affected
  • Colours may vary

The recall applies to all batches of the product, regardless of colour.

The CCPC is advising parents and carers to stop using the baby spinner immediately and keep it out of children's reach.

Anyone who has purchased the product can return it to any The Works store for a full refund, and a receipt is not required.

Parents who have questions about the recall can contact The Works by emailing [email protected] or calling 00 44 121 313 6050.

You can find the full recall notice on the CCPC website.
