Popular kid’s cereal recalled in Ireland due to health risk

An urgent recall has been published in Ireland and the UK due an issue with batches of the popular Shreddies cereal.

Cereal Partners UK and Ireland issued a statement on Friday morning to confirm the voluntary recall of 12 batches of Nestlé Frosted Shreddies.

Officials explained that the reason for the recall was due to a risk that pieces of hard sugar may be found in the product.

The affected batch numbers of Nestlé Frosted Shreddies 500g are:

  • 42870952 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 42880952 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 42890952 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 42900952 (expiry date 07/2025)

The same problem is also present for the Nestlé Frosted Shreddies 40g boxes included in the Nestlé Box Bowl Mixed Cereals with the following codes: 

  • 42913451 (expiry date 06/2025)
  • 42933451 (expiry date 06/2025)
  • 42923451 (expiry date 06/2025)
  • 43173451 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 43183451 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 43193451 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 43203451 (expiry date 07/2025)
  • 43233451 (expiry date 07/2025)

Speaking about the recalls, Cereal Partners UK and Ireland confirmed that there are no other issues among other batches of their cereal products.

Customers are advised not to eat the affected cereal and are asked to take a photo of the batch code on the top of the pack before throwing it away.
