Pregnant dog walks to hospital after being stabbed

A pregnant dog walked all the way to the hospital after being stabbed.

The dog, named 'Milagros' ('Miracle') by doctors, walked into the Emiro Quintero Canizales hospital in Colombia after being stabbed in the back with a knife. The animal was bleeding profusely as she was transferred to a vet for surgery. Local media site Tubarco reports that Miracle had to be moved due to the "severity" of her wounds. Neither she nor her unborn puppies survived the stabbing. A video has emerged online of the dog being carried by members of hospital staff to the vet centre. She can also be seen lying down with bandages around her wound which is still bleeding. Vet Dr Carlos Alberto Bayona said he worried the person who stabbed the dog "could do it to any human without compassion." "She was always wagging her tail," he said. "She was a loyal and faithful companion." If Colombian police locate Miracle's attacker, the person could face between three and five years in prison.
