Prince George’s Mates To Be Vetted Before Royal Playdates

Katie Mythen-Lynch

He’s the world’s most famous young royal, so it’s no surprise Kensington Palace keeps a close eye on the people he comes into contact with, but according to a new report, even Prince George’s little nursery school friends could find themselves being vetted before they are invited over for tea.

As the adorable two-year-old started Westacre Montessori School, near King’s Lynn, in Norfolk earlier this month, parents everywhere wondered what it must be like to have your child share a classroom with the heir to the throne – do you chit chat with Duke and Duchess at the gates? Can you schedule a play date without contacting a Palace aid?

Overall it seems as if they’re relatively approachable: a source revealed to Bella magazine that Kate and William are hands-on parents and will be “getting involved in Prince George’s nursery life,”

“They won’t ever want him to feel isolated or different from the other children, so that means plenty of play dates with his classmates.” the source added.

But contact of any kind means some serious vetting:

“There would be security checks on parents coming into their home and personal ‘family areas’ of the estate would be out of bounds, but there are plenty of communal areas where George’s friends can visit.” the source continued.

Form an orderly queue, kids…
