Princess Charlotte Already Has A Very Royal Hobby

Her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, is still a keen equestrian at the age of ninety so it's no surprise that Princess Charlotte is developing an interest in horses. In fact, chatting to para rider Natasha Baker at a special event for Olympic and Paralympics heroes at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that her 17-month-old daughter may already be taking lessons.

“I asked her how the children were and she said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding, which is great to hear and I said we may see her here on a line-up in 20 years’ time,’” said Baker. ”She emphasised that Charlotte has this passion about horses and although she doesn’t echo it, she’ll do her best to champion and encourage it.”

Queen Elizabeth famously began riding at the age of four when she was gifted a Shetland pony named Peggy. Despite her advancing years, the reigning monarch regularly rides her favourite Fell pony, a mare named Carltonlima Emma, across her Windsor estate, always refusing to wear a helmet, which she believes would ruin her hair.
