The Princess of Wales has opened up about her cancer recovery and has admitted it's been a very difficult time for her.
The mum-of-three shared the update during a visit to the Colchester Hospital in Essex last week.
Kate Middleton is being praised for her honesty amid her cancer recovery. She was diagnosed with a form of cancer last year, but confirmed she was given the all-clear in September 2024.
At the time, Kate told her supporters, "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."
Speaking about her recovery, the mum admitted that it has been incredibly hard for her.
As per People, the mum said life in remission can be difficult.
"You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment, treatment’s done – then it’s like ‘I can crack on, get back to normal."
"But actually the phase afterwards is really difficult, you’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,” she admitted.
Kate continued, "And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you, and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable,” she went on.
The mum said it takes time to find your "new normal" and that's something we need to remember more often.
"You have to find your new normal, and that takes time…and it’s a roller coaster, it’s not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times."
