A number of protestors gathered outside the the Taoiseach’s home in Dublin last night.

A small group of people holding up posters turned up outside Leo Varadkar’s house in an estate in Castleknock.

Calling themselves the ‘yellow vest’ group, the group demanded an end to homelessness, for ways for citizens to get referendums on the ballot paper and for Varadkar to resign as Taoiseach.

Gardaí confirmed to the Irish Sun that they had attended the scene.

The Department of the Taoiseach also said that it was aware of the incident.

It comes almost a week after a similar protest at the home of Health Minister Simon Harris.

Harris said yesterday that the demonstration at his house in Wicklow amounted to “violation, intimidation and thuggery”.

The minister was at home with his wife and their newborn daughter when the protest group gathered outside last Sunday afternoon.

He said that the protestors appeared to have followed them back to the house in Delgany after a walk.

“Within seconds of my wife coming in the door they had gathered outside my house,” he told RTÉ Radio One yesterday.

“The thing that keeps coming back to me is that they didn’t know I was in the house so all they saw was my wife and three-week-old baby.”
