Two primary school children were hospitalised after it was thought that they had consumed an ecstasy tablet on school grounds.
According to
98FM, a secondary school pupil, from a nearby school, is believed to have given the two children the tablet which they consumed.
The teachers at the school contacted Gardaí and the children were brought to Temple Street Hospital for observation.
Gardaí confirmed to 98FM that the investigation was ongoing and they were still trying to conclude if the tablet was given to the children and if they had consumed it.
At this point, there is no evidence to suggest it is the case but they are looking into all aspects of the claims.
The primary school is in west Dublin near Blanchardstown.
The Gardaí told us:
"On the 22nd January 2018 Gardai from Blanchardstown attended a school in Blanchardstown. An incident had been reported to them by school staff. Two students attended Temple St Hospital as a precaution.
There is no evidence at this stage to suggest that it was a controlled substance."
