Rebel Wilson’s daughter was born via surrogacy in November.

Rebel Wilson has opened up about welcoming her baby girl via surrogacy. As happy as she was to finally become a mother, Wilson shared that she struggled at the start.

The Pitch Perfect star told Today that she tried IVF before opting for surrogacy.

She explained that her desire to become a mother grew deeper when she was nearing her 40th birthday.

After visiting her fertility doctor, Wilson tried IVF, but it sadly didn’t work for the mum.

“I was still young enough to try a few more times, and then luckily got my gorgeous baby girl. Having a baby via a surrogate is a bit different of an experience because, in a way, you feel a little disconnected,” she said.

The mum said she was overcome with emotion when her baby girl Royce was born.

Despite feeling disconnected, Wilson said she was involved in her daughter’s birth.

“You hold the baby and cut the umbilical cord,” she shared.

Following the birth of her baby girl, Wilson dedicated a post to her surrogate on Instagram.

She praised her surrogate for making her dreams come true.

“I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.

“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!” she added.
