Robbie Keane's mother Anne was laid to rest this week.
Robbie Keane's mother has been remembered as a "true Irish mammy" at her funeral.
The footballer's mother Anne was laid to rest at St Agnes's Church in Crumlin on Thursday.
During the mass, Robbie spoke about how his mother was his family's rock.
The sportsman said family was everything to his mother.
He told mourners;
"There are so many words to describe our mother - kind, generous, caring, strong, selfless and resilient, but the word that sums her up the most in family orientated.
"Family was everything to her and everything she did was for her children."
Anne was also the glue that held her family together, Keane shared.
Robbie said his mam supported his career from the get-go.
“She worked so hard to make sure that my suitcase was full of new clothes for my new adventure at Wolves. I repaid her with my first contract at the age of 16. My only request was, written in pencil, that my parents could visit me four times a year and I could get my mam central heating."
Anne was predeceased by her husband Robbie Snr. He died at the age of 50 in 2003.
Robbie said his family is comforted knowing they're now together again.
"It gives us great piece of mind to know that they’re reunited again in Heaven.”
Keane also thanked the public for the waves of support his family has received since the death of his mam. He said the support has been a "huge comfort to us during this difficult time".
