"Ladies and gentlemen, I finally met this real life 10yr old hero, Jacob O'Connor. He rescued his 2yr old brother after finding him facedown in their pool. "I said, not only do I shake hands, but when I meet heroic kids, I give hugs...now get in here. "Despite the fact I looked like 9 ways of hell, battered and bloodied from my scenes, Jacob reluctantly, gave me a hug. "A very special day we had on our set."https://www.instagram.com/p/BYqXB4VlTxu/ He added later on:
"Big Rock hugs for mama Christa O'Connor. As you can imagine, she's so proud of her son and even more, so grateful to have her boys. "She told me that at first she wondered 'Wait, I am just calling Jacob a hero because I'm a proud mom and he's my son?' "Then I said, 'no wait.. he IS a real hero for saving his brother's life'. "Yup, he sure is. "Thank you so much Christa for flying out to Vancouver to allow us to meet you and your boys, Jacob and Gavin. "We had a blast and grateful to have you on our set."https://www.instagram.com/p/BYqYdPOFEtQ/?taken-by=therock And it looks like Jacob and his other brother Gavin had an absolute blast on set. The Rock pulled out all the stops for the family's visit, including a Willy Wonka-style buffet table filled with chocolate and sweets. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYqaxkTFqtF/?taken-by=therock And he finished up the day with an emotional video chat with Jacob, who he said it was "an honour" to meet. He said:
“Jacob saved his 2-year-old brother, Dylan, who he found facedown in a pool and starting giving him chest compressions. "He learned that from a movie I made called San Andreas. “I just want to say, ‘I’m so proud of you.’ It’s an honor meeting this kid.”https://www.instagram.com/p/BYrE7JBFRhz/?taken-by=therock Jacob was watching a movie at his grandmother's house earlier this summer when he noticed the screen door to the backyard was open. He saw his 2 year old brother Dylan face down in the pool, and quickly pulled him out and laid him on the deck and quickly began doing chest compressions. Jacob had been watching San Andreas the week before - and remembered the scene where the Rock pulls his unconscious daughter from the floodwaters and gives her CPR. The 10 year old told the Washington Post:
“The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene. “And that’s when I started doing the compressions.”He pushed for half a minute until Dylan's "heart started pumping" - and then Jacob's brother “vomited a little water.” Featured image via Instagram/The Rock.
