Ryanair announce seat sale for Christmas
There will be 20% off all European flights.
Ryanair has announced a seat sale in the run up to Christmas aimed at those hoping to travel home for the festive season.
The airline is offering 20% off all flights in Europe from December 1. They have also created a list of test centres near Ryanair airports to encourage passengers to get tested for Covid-19 before their flight.
“We welcome the implementation of the EU ‘Traffic Light’ System in Ireland, and with Covid tests now widely available, the Travel System ensures that loved ones get home safely for the Christmas season," a spokesperson said.
"To make things easier for our passengers, we have created a feature on our website which provides a list of test centres located close to Ryanair airports, allowing passengers to book their test when booking their flights home.
"With our amazing 20% OFF seat sale and flights all across Europe, customers can book their return flights home this Christmas at fantastic prices. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto Ryanair.com to avoid missing out.”
This comes after Tánaiste Leo Varadkar urged people not to book flights home this Christmas yet due to the prevalence of the virus.
He told the Dáil earlier this month that it is "too soon" for people to be booking flights home given the dangers international travel could pose.
"I think in terms of people booking flights for Christmas to come home, I'd advise them not to do that at the moment," he said.
"I know that’s difficult, I know that’s tough, but Christmas is six weeks away and it is too soon now for people to be booking flights to come home.
“There is a risk that as we get down to very low levels again that the country could be reseeded by people travelling in from overseas."
