Sister of Sandra Boyd pays emotional tribute to sister at her funeral

She was accidentally shot at her home in Finglas.

The sister of Sandra Boyd has paid a moving tribute to the mum.

36-year-old Sandra was tragically killed in a shooting incident at her home in Finglas on March 19th.

The mum-of-five was laid to rest yesterday.

During the emotional service, her sister said Sandra was a special person.

According to DublinLive, she said:  “Sandra meant so much to everyone who had the privilege to share their lives with her.

“She was so special to everyone, especially her four beautiful sons Ben Jordan Luke, and Carter, and her baby girl Darcy”

“Anyone who knew her knew she hit with a heavy hand, which some of her brother-in-law’s experienced.”

She continued, “Sandra loved the simple things in life. She never asked for much and all that she had she gave to her children.

“Sandra will live on in so many hearts, especially her children, her Mam, Dad, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.”

Fix You by Coldplay was played when the mum’s white coffin was taken into the church.

During the service, her sons brought up items that represented her life. They included a packet of cigarettes, a bottle of Jack Daniels, and a bottle of perfume.

They also presented a family photo.

She was then laid to rest in Glasnevin Cemetary.

Sandra was shot in the chest at her home in Finglas on March 19th.

Her brother was arrested in connection with her tragic death.

Her 27-year-old brother Derek Boyd has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
