"No further treatment is required."

Saoirse Ruane's cancer surgery was a success, her mum has revealed.

Roseanne confirmed the incredible news alongside a beautiful photo of her daughter smiling.

She shared, "This week brought some welcome news as we received some long-awaited results from Saoírse’s surgery. Following a call from our oncologist, we learned that Saoírse’s surgery was successful.

"No further treatment is required, which is the best outcome we could have hoped for," her mum shared.

When she heard the joyous news, Saoirse wrapped her arms around her parents with excitement.

"As many of you will know, cancer is incredibly unpredictable so the plan now is to go forward cautiously from review to review as our team wishes to monitor Saoírse carefully!"

Her parents thanked the public for the waves of support.

Ruthanne explained that surgery wasn't even an option to begin with, but their doctor and his team decided to go ahead with it.

"We truly believe now that all your prayers made this happen and helped her make such a good recovery. We are forever grateful!"

Saoirse is even planning on returning to school before the summer. Her mum said she has made great progress since she returned home from the hospital two weeks ago."

"Even though she may not be back on the camogie pitch for quite some time, she is adamant to head back to school before the summer holidays!"

Ruthanne added, "Please know that while this is an amazing victory, we have to be realistic."

"Saoírse may have won this battle but she hasn’t won the war…. so we go forward now and hope that you will all continue to keep Saoírse in your hearts and prayers!"
