Truly heartbreaking.
It has only been a few months since Sarah Harding, 39, revealed that she was battling advanced breast cancer.
Since then, the singer has been busy writing a book, her memoir, Hear Me Out, about her life and battle with cancer, which is out now.
The Girls Aloud star, 39, wrote about her ongoing cancer battle in an extract from her book, which was shared by The Times over the weekend.
Bravely, Harding writes:
“In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last. I don’t want an exact prognosis. I don’t know why anyone would want that…”
“Comfort and being as pain-free as possible is what’s important to me now. I’m trying to live and enjoy every second of my life, however long it might be. I am having a glass of wine or two during all this, because it helps me relax.”
She also reveals that she is at present considering her options when it comes to further treatment for the disease, which may have now spread to her brain, while still keeping her focus on trying to enjoy herself as she doesn’t know how many months she has got left.
Spending time with her mum and close friends, the singer reveals how ‘life has gotten so much smaller’ but she is also grateful for the stillness of the past few months, allowing her to just spend her time with loved ones at home.
What she wants right now, Harding says, is to throw a goodbye party for everyone she loved – a big one.
‘I think what I’d really like to do is to see everyone – all my friends, all together. One last time. Then I’d throw a great big f*** off party as a way to say thank you and goodbye.”
