Dublin Bus is about to lose all of its blue and yellow branding

The iconic branding will soon be no more.

Dublin Bus is losing it's blue and yellow branding, and 'Dublin Bus' will no longer be displayed across its double deckers. Yep, the move is to coincide with a London firm which will start operating 10 percent of the city routes this year. The UK firm Go Ahead will be introduced into Ireland later this year in October. A new design will see different colours (although it has not been confirmed what those are yet) along with the logo 'Transport For Ireland' written across the fleets. Last year, the company secured a contract to operate 24 routes, however within the contract it was agreed that all buses must be uniform at the expense of Dublin Bus. Speaking of the change, Fianna Fail TD for Dublin John Lahart said: "Dublin Bus is part of the fabric of Dublin and I don't think it should be eviscerated so easily. "Feedback shows the colours appeal to people with special needs and are a help to people who are visually impaired... I think the brand is worth fighting for."
