At Home: Body found in Galway identified as a 22-year-old woman

A body that was found at the Galway shoreline has been identified.

It is understood that the deceased is 22-year-old Laura Vizgirdaite.

Reports claim the young woman had been missing from Northern Ireland for two weeks.

Her cause of death has yet to be determined.

Covid: Frontline workers could receive bonus and time off, Taoiseach says

An Taoiseach has stated that frontline workers could receive both a bonus and additional annual leave for the efforts they went to during the pandemic.

Speaking in New York, he said that the Government is currently looking at a way to award the workers.

“We want to reflect the contribution that people have made during Covid-19 particularly frontline workers,” he commented.

Holohan stresses primary schools are low-risk for Covid transmission

CMO Tony Holohan has reassured parents that the risk of Covid transmission in primary schools is not high.

His words come after the Covid measures were loosened for children under 12.

Holohan said schools remain a “low-risk setting” for the virus.

Despite the change in measures, Holohan urged parents to keep children with Covid symptoms out of the classroom.

The popular BBC series Waterloo Road will return to our TV screens, the broadcaster has announced.

The beloved family drama will “reflect problems encountered by parents, pupils, and teachers in a post-pandemic world”.

The series first aired in 2006 and was on the air for 10 series.

Ronan and Storm Keating’s son is being treated in hospital for an unknown illness.

The dad confirmed the sad news by sharing photos of his son in a hospital in England.

“Not the 24hrs I had imagined. But ya never know what life has in store. This little guy is an absolute Trooper,” the dad wrote.

“I’m blown away with his strength and charm. Mum & Dad are a mess worried sick and he takes it in his stride. I am so incredibly grateful to the staff @chelwestft you guys rock.”
