A school in the UK recently sent its pupils an inspiring note to let them know how important they are, a week before they sat their exams.
The letter, which was sent by administrators at Buckton Vale Primary School, assured the sixth class pupils that the SATs test doesn’t reflect how “special and unique” they are. It reminds them, “While you are preparing for the test and in the midst of it all, remember that there is no way to ‘test’ all of the amazing and awesome things that make you, YOU!”
Since the letter was posted on the school’s Facebook page, it has been shared more than 60,000 times, but it isn’t original to the school. “These words were written by Mary Ginley back in 1999. Many schools have used them in the years before us and many will use them in the years after.”
We think it’s a lovely way to encourage and calm children before they sit the mandatory exams.
