This school thinks children with ‘good’ shoes will be more ‘successful’

What..?

A school in the UK have announced that they think children who wear specific shoes will be more successful in life.

The Crispin School in Somerset, England, have said that they believe that children who wear the “sharpest” footwear have the “strongest academic success.”

They took to Facebook to share their thoughts.

In the highly controversial post entitled “success and shoes”, they wrote:

“It has become apparent that those students with the strongest academic progress, those achieving in areas such as sport, music and the arts and those who have helped out and conducted themselves well around school are ‘sharply’ dressed.

“With a nod to Street’s history, we have particularly chosen to emphasise the link between success and footwear.

“Those students achieving are wearing the correct footwear.

“Admittedly, some students would have reached for the polish had they known their feet would be under the spotlight but the correlation between success, doing the right things and being helpful students is a strong one.”

Right, so.

They also included some images of what some ‘successful’ shoes look like.

Facebook users were, understandably, not too impressed by the school’s post.

Every pupil has the ability to be successful.. with the right teachers and support! Nothing to do with footwear,” wrote one user.

“This is shaming and bullying poor people. Disgraceful,” said someone else.
