A settlement has been reached over the collapse of an apartment balcony in Berkeley, California that killed six people.

Irish students Eoghan Culligan, Lorcán Miller, Eimear Walsh, Olivia Burke, Niccolai Schuster, and Irish-American student Ashley Donohoe were killed when the Library Star balcony collapsed in 2015.

Seven others were also injured in the fall.

RTE reports that a settlement has been reached between the families of the victims and survivors, and the management of the apartment complex.

The incident occurred early on the morning of June 16, 2015 when the students were attending a birthday party in the apartment.

A similar settlement was reached in May with the companies that constructed the apartment complex.

Both settlements are confidential.
