Sharon Osbourne Is In Hot Water Over Madeleine McCann Comments

Mrs. O is in trouble again. Host of US daytime talk show 'The Talk', she reportedly described Kate and Gerry McCann as 'insane' for leaving the then 3-year-old Madeleine unsupervised at their holiday apartment while they went for dinner. The talk show panel were discussing a recent thread on Mumsnet which posed the question; 'Would you leave a sleeping 10-month-old alone for seven minutes?' Tweets from fans of the show were strongly in support of never leaving your child alone, no matter the circumstances;

Sharon referenced the Madeleine McCann case as an example of the potential risks of leaving a child unattended and the vast number of other things that could go wrong in an instant;

“It is like so many things happen in just a second. If you leave a candle on and the curtain blows on it and it caught on fire".

But it was her description of calling the McCann's 'insane' that has caused outrage. A family friend reportedly spoke to The Mirror and commented;

“She should think about the effect it could have on Madeline’s brother and sister, as well as the wider family. “Kate and Gerry have never forgiven themselves and this should not have been aired in a random way, as it apparently was"
