Simon Harris and wife Caoimhe welcome a baby boy and his name is adorable

It’s a boy!

Huge congratulations are in order for Minister Simon Harris and his wife Caoimhe who have welcomed their second child together.

Harris confirmed the news by sharing photos of their adorable newborn on Instagram. In the photos, his son his wrapped up in a blue blanket at the hospital.

34-year-old Harris is cradling their newborn son in another photo.

His wife Caoimhe gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Holles Street maternity hospital.

The dad-of-two praised staff at Holles Street for everything they did for his family.

He revealed their son’s name is Cillian.

The name is of Irish origin and means ‘bright-headed’.

He shared: “Today we welcomed Baby Cillian into the world. Caoimhe and baby doing great and Saoirse delighted to be a big sister and looking forward to meeting him soon.

“Thanks so much to all staff in Holles Street,” he wrote.

The Minister confirmed he will take paternity leave for a few weeks to be with his son and family.

“I will now take paternity leave for a few weeks to get to know this new little man,” the dad shared.

This is the Higher Education Minister’s second child with cardiac nurse Caoimhe. He is also a dad to his two-year-old daughter Saoirse.

Harris revealed they were expecting their second child in the summertime.

The dad shared a photo of a toy rabbit and baby blanket with his Instagram followers.

“In the West on a short break and the last before Saoirse becomes a big sister!” he shared.

“Our new arrival is due soon. Caoimhe and I are excited and looking forward to Saoirse having a little brother or sister,” Harris added.

The couple welcomed their daughter Saoirse into the world in 2019.
