Sinead O Connor shares heartbreaking news that her son Shane has died

Shane was only 17-years-old.

Earlier today the Gardaí made a statement saying that following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow yesterday, the Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O'Connor, 17 years, has been stood down. Today his mother and Irish musician Sinead O Connor confirmed that Shane had been found and that he had tragically passed away. Shane was reported missing two days ago but unfortunately yesterday the worst was confirmed for the O'Connor and Lunny family. Sinead wrote the following tribute on Twitter to her 17-year-old son;

"My beautiful son, Nevi'im Nesta Ali Shane O'Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace:"

Sinead shares Shane with her ex partner musician Donal Lunny. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
