Smile for Mummy! Palace releases first portrait of Princess Charlotte and big brother George

The first picture of Princess Charlotte has been released… with a very famous photographer behind the lens.

Kensington Palace posted the informal family snap, which shows the adorable baby girl and her big brother Prince George, to the official Palace Twitter account.

In a refreshing break from tradition, the image was taken by proud Mum, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton two weeks ago at the couple’s home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge, who was born on May 2, will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby at St Mary Magdalene, on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, on July 5.

While the family are likely to have a professional on hand for the big day, they might also be framing a few family efforts; the first official family snap of Prince George was also taken by a family member, grandad Michael Middleton.

See? They’re just like us those Royals. They’ll probably swing by Boots to have them developed.
