Smyths Toys has a new mascot and he is absolutely adorable

The reason for this is wonderful.

Smyths Toys Superstores have unveiled their brand new advert and with it comes a new little mascot. This year, they've introduced the brand new character of Snot, a toy who begins as a factory line error but goes on to become this year’s most wanted toy. And the clue of Snot is in the name, he is a little green snot. Might not sound it but he is super cute. For the advert, which is narrated by David Walliams, we follow Snot as he wanders through the streets looking for a place to call home. Though he encounters a series of misfortunate events on his travels, Snot ends up saving the day and finds a home in the aisles of Smyths. Smyths Toys have also brought Snot to life by creating a plush toy version of the little character, as well as a book telling the tale of his adventure to the toy store. Just look at his face. The retailer has confirmed that they will be donating all the profits from sales of Snot and his book to Temple Street Foundation. Speaking about the partnership, Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer of Temple Street Foundation said:

“We are very proud to partner with Smyths Toys Superstores and are incredibly grateful to them for donating all funds raised through the sale of Snot, and the book which tells his story, to Temple Street Foundation. This will allow us to continue to help seriously ill children and their families and make Temple Street Children’s University Hospital a better place. Christmas is a very special time for us here in Temple Street as we try to make it as magical as possible for all the children who are too ill to spend Christmas at home. Thank you to everyone at Smyths Toys for helping make this happen and we are sure Snot will be a firm favourite with children in Temple Street and all over the country this Christmas!”
