So how long is left in the Great Kate Wait?

As crowds begin to gather outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, the question on everybody’s lips is the same: when can we expect an announcement?

The Duchess of Cambridge spent 11 hours in labour on her first child, Prince George Alexander Louis, born on July 22, 2013.

Second babies are generally expected to arrive faster, with the average labour taking five hours.

When the baby arrives, the customary formal bulletin announcing the royal birth will once again be displayed on an easel (pictured above) outside Buckingham Palace.

While Prince George weighed in at 8lb six ounces, second babies also tend to be a little bigger.
