Meanwhile, the weather forecast for today will see: "Cloudy in most areas this afternoon with outbreaks of rain and drizzle affecting Connacht, Munster, and west Ulster but staying largely dry further east until evening time. "Becoming breezy as southerly winds gradually strengthen increasing fresh to strong and gusty on Atlantic coasts. Afternoon temperatures ranging 6 to 11 degrees and coldest in the north." And for tonight: "Windy with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle the rain turning persistent and heavy in the west and northwest. There will be hill and coastal mist also. Minimum temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees early in the night. South to southeast winds will be fresh to strong and gusty with gales along coasts."Quite sunny in the east this morning however cloud will steadily thicken from the west during the day.
