Stop Everything… “Anti-Ageing” Gin Is a Thing!

HerFamily

We’re assuming now that Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn weren’t drinking a secret potion in that movie Death Becomes Her but rather swigging from a tiny bottle of gin.

That’s because a new gin claims to have anti-ageing qualities.

Described as “the first of its kind” and “the alcoholic equivalent of a facial”, Anti-aGin is said to rejuvenate your skin whilst you sip on the beverage.

It contains pure collagen (which keeps wrinkles and fine lines at bay) as well as other age-defying botanicals and antioxidants including nettle, chamomile, witch hazel oil and green tea.

The spirit was reportedly created by Warner Leisure Hotels in association with Bompas & Parr. It is available from the hotels and online at Drink Supermarket (for £34.99).

As much as we are excited by the idea of Anti-aGin (we will DEFINITELY be putting it to the test), experts say that excessive alcohol consumption can have a detrimental effect on your skin.

You naturally lose collagen as you age (which is what leads to the formation of wrinkles and a loss of firmness in the skin) and drinking in excess is known to speed up this process and also cause dehydration.

Of course, it all comes down to moderation and if our small little tipple just happens to make our skin look better, it’s a win-win!

We have a bit of an obsession with gin and tonic at HerFamily. Just check out these recipes.
