SuperValu issues urgent recall over presence of wood in popular rice

The supermarket is concerned about wood fragments in the product.

SuperValu has issued an urgent recall on one of its rice products due to the presence of wood fragments. The supermarket confirmed a batch of its 1kg Long Grain Rice packets has been affected. Customers have been warned not to consume the product. All products with blue packaging have been recalled. However, the product with red packaging has not been affected. The FSAI stated: "As a precaution, SuperValu is recalling all batches of its SuperValu Long Grain Rice due to the possible presence of wood fragments." "All batches in blue packaging as per the picture below are affected. SuperValu Long Grain Rice in red packaging is not affected by this recall." "Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches," the FSAI added.
