Like millions of fans across the world, we have been eagerly awaiting news of another season of hit Netflix show Sweet Magnolias.
Season one left us not only wanting more – but also with tons of questions unanswered.
I mean – why did Kyle take Ty’s car? Who was sitting in the passenger seat? Will Maddie take Bill back? And lastly, when will the series return for another instalment?
Guess what – we finally have an answer to that last question at least.
Yesterday, the writers behind the hit show took to Instagram to share the following news.

Captioning the post, they wrote:
“We know it’s been a long wait, but it’ll be worth it! SWEET MAGNOLIAS will be returning to Netflix for Season 2 on February 4, 2022! Mark your calendar! We can’t wait to welcome you back to Serenity.”
Also good news? According to Netflix, all main cast members will reprise their roles.
Who‘s in ‘Sweet Magnolias‘ season 2?
Netflix confirmed a while back that Joanna Garcia Swisher (Maddie), Heather Headley (Helen) and Brooke Elliott (Dana Sue) will reprise their roles in Sweet Magnolias season two.
Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn Spears was promoted to series regular, so fans can expect to see a lot more of Noreen. Chris Klein will also return as Maddie’s ex, Bill Townsend, Justin Bruening will return as her boyfriend, Cal, and Rowland and Logan Allen will stick around to play Maddie’s sons, Tyler and Kyle. Other returning cast members include Anneliese Judge (Annie), Brandon Quinn (Ronnie) and Dion Johnstone (Erik).
What is ‘Sweet Magnolias‘ season 2 about?
It seems fans will finally get answers to some of their biggest questions, including who was in the car during that intense finale. But according to Netflix’s logline, the big reveal is just one of the “many surprises” to come out of prom night.
The official description reads, “Friendships flounder. Old loves end and new loves begin. Long-hidden secrets disrupt jobs, change lives, and shift the balance of power in Serenity. Everyone is affected.”
It continues, “But in laughter and in loss, the Sweet Magnolias continue to fight for what is right for themselves and the people they love—even when those efforts come with a high price tag. Will they find there are some problems not even margarita night can solve? Come pour it out and find out.”
