Here's how to keep a real Christmas tree fresh and prevent it from becoming a fire hazard

Christmas can be a difficult time of year for families in emergency accommodation.

With no place to put a tree or prepare dinner it can often feel lonely and isolating, particularly if you have no friends of family nearby that you can spend the season with.

This Christmas, Tallaght Kids Zone and A Helping Hand will be hosting a dinner on Christmas day in their Dublin 24 premises to help bring the joy back for many families dealing with homelessness.

Located in Whitestown Industrial Estate, Dublin, families from across the city can come together for Christmas day.

The dinner will be taking place between 1pm and 4.30pm and there will be buses available for those wishing to attend.

All those attending will be able to enjoy a three course mean, gifts and most importantly the company of others.

A Helping Hand, a charity service which helps homeless families, have been busy collecting gifts since September to help make the day extra special.

No one should feel alone during the holiday season and this dinner is one way to make sure that many families don’t have to.

If you or anyone you know are currently living in emergency accommodation and would like to attend you can contact Dermot at 0872036468 for more details.
