16-year-old Greta Thunberg has been featured on the cover of the latest TIME magazine.

The Swedish climate change activist began her famous school strikes last year and has since travelled across Europe attending marches and speaking at press conferences.

Most recently the young teen was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and is now the latest face to grace the cover of one of the most famous magazines in the world.

For such a young girl Greta has made a huge impact on the recognition of climate change with many across the globe following her example and creating their own school strikes and marches.

Earlier this month Ireland declared a climate emergency, to which Thunberg herself applauded.

Thunberg’s main goal is for governments to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement, limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C over pre-industrial levels but she insists that time is running out to do so.

“I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is.”

Greta wrote the caption ‘now I am speaking to the whole world’ alongside the photograph of her TIME cover as she continues to fight for global climate change awareness.
