As much as we love to share parts of our lives online, there is something slightly haunting about the access people have to our lives.
We know where influencers have gone on holidays, who they're married to, where they work, and even the names of their children.
And as wonderful as the internet can be, it can also be a very harmful place.
Many people have stopped sharing as much as they used to online, including Irish influencer Terrie McEvoy.
The mum, who is currently pregnant with her second child, recently opened up about her decision to step back from sharing photos of her daughter with her followers.
With a whopping 380,000 followers, the mum realised that keeping her daughter Sydney's face offline was the best move for her.
She explained why in an interview with EVOKE: "When I did share that photo of her, I just felt really protective. I was like, "Oh God, this is, this doesn't feel right." And I pulled back.
"Then I started to kind of look into it a little bit more, researching it and weighing up the pros and cons, and I feel like keeping Sydney offline with regards to her identity was just something that naturally just happened," Terrie added.
"I feel like there are so many predators online that can do crazy things with AI. It's wild and it's scary, and I just don't want to have her a part of that."
The mum said she is incredibly protective of her children and owes it to them to protect them online.
"Parents probably aren't aware of the dangers of putting their child out online. Things can go viral really quickly," she said.
The influencer stressed that she would never judge anyone for sharing photos of their own children online. However, she believes that protecting her daughter's identity is the best move for her personally.
"I just felt like it was the right thing to do. And as well as that, I feel like I don't fully have Sydney's permission to do that just yet."
Do you agree?
