Tesco issue urgent recall of baby carriers over risk of injury

Return the carrier immediately.

Tesco Ireland has issued an urgent recall notice for the Red Kite Baby Co Ltd ‘3 Way Baby Carrier’.

The recall was issued on Tuesday by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The reason it is being recalled is because there appears to be a risk of injury by a manufacturing defect that can cause clips on the carrier to fail and become unhinged.

The item was for sale both in Irish Tesco stores and on the Tesco.ie website.

The batch codes on the affected products are RK 2899, RK 2900, RK 2901 and RK3003. They can be found on the label on the bottom of the carrier.

In a statement, the CCPC said:

“Tesco is recalling the ‘Red Kite Baby Co’ branded ‘3 Way Baby Carrier’. This is due to a risk of injury posed by a manufacturing defect that can cause the clips to fail.

“It effects approximately 120 units sold in Ireland, the batches affected are: RK 2899/ RK 2900/ RK 2901/ RK3003.

“The batch number can be found on the care label on the bottom of the baby carrier.
