Have a niggling feeling about the lad you went on a date with recently or the girl you just started seeing?
It could be worth putting yourself in the shoes of the couples on First Dates.
Dating coach Erika Ettin, founder of
A Little Nudge, has come up with a simple test you can try the next time you're with that person on a date.
She reckons that her 'bar test' is a pretty solid way of figuring out whether you're truly happy with the person.
Here's the test;
"When you’re at a bar (or restaurant, wherever) with your new belle or beau, are you looking around to see who else is out there or who might see you two together? Or, are you perfectly content with your partner, and you want everyone there to notice you with him/her?
"If the latter is true, then he/she passes the test. But if it’s the former, it might be time to decide whether being in a relationship with this person is your best option."
In other words, if the thought that there could be someone better around persists when you're out with someone, it's time to move on.
This sounds like a test worth trying but remember to trust your own gut.
If you're scooting around online trying to figure out whether to stick out a relationship or leave it, you likely know the answer and are just looking for something to back you up.
