We haven’t heard too much about Ferrycarrig Hotel before now but that could soon change as it’s just been awarded the ‘best wedding venue in Ireland’.
The news was announced at the 2018 Irish Wedding Awards at Dublin’s Crowne Plaza with the ceremony attended by 250 professionals from the hospitality industry.
Initially, the hotel was awarded the best wedding in the southeast and to the surprise and delight of the Ferrycarrig team, they also scooped the overall award.
Thirty-eight venues were also in the running and the results were decided by brides and grooms nationwide who nominated and voted for their favourite.
In recent times, Ferrycarrig has been renovated with the Waterfront Wedding Suite getting an extensive refurbishment.
It now features Giorgio Armani wallpaper, a bespoke carpet by Couristan of New York, a leather bar front and handcrafted ornate doorframes.
Even if you’re not getting married, that description would make you want to check it out.
The hotel has won awards previously too, Reeds Restaurant was named the best hotel restaurant in Wexford for 2016 and 2017 and it also features in Leinster’s top 5 restaurants as chosen by the Restaurant Association of Ireland.
